Kenny Tosh
Hi, I'm Kenny
My Dad played with a big local showband in the late 50’s & 60’s, so from an early age, music was always around the house as I was growing up. I started doing discos in the local youth clubs in the mid 70’s and then into the night clubs around the country. After being bitten with the radio bug, influenced by offshore radio stations in the 60’s, I joined hospital radio as many of us did when we started. Full time radio called in the 80’s, so away went my career as a B.T.engineer and a move to radio in Ireland took place.
After working in various stations in Ireland & Spain, I returned home to work on a Belfast station in 1993. After an 11 year stint, I then moved to work on the Causeway coast to host drive time and onto head of music, and more recently to present a Breakfast show, Monday to Friday and again take on the position as head of music for a new Belfast station in 2016. Over the years, I’ve worked on BBC Three counties radio, Radio Six and various stations in Northern Ireland. Today, I've moved my show to on-line radio. My musical tastes, I suppose, range from Abba to ZZ Top and from Bach To Tchaikovsky.
Sean Usher
I grew up surrounded by music listening to my dad’s collection of Lonnie Donnegan , Country music, and Elvis as well as my mum’s Everley Brothers and Cliff Richard’s favourites. Music and radio have always been a huge part of my life and my passion for it, as well as a bit of persuasion, led me to become a local radio presenter playing hits from the 70s 80s, and 90s as well as running a new music show highlighting brand new artists.
I am proud to be part of this station and helping to ensure that the music from the Heritage artists is heard by as many people as possible.
Daniel James
In early 1990, Daniel was one half of the pop band Yell!, who had worldwide hits with Instant Replay & Let’s Go Round Again. The album has been reissued on Secret Records. Before his success in Yell!, Daniel worked as an actor in various TV dramas and presented children’s TV live on the BBC every morning. During this time Daniel became a presenter on Children’s BBC reading birthdays, he was then invited to co-host the series called’ But First This’ with Andy Crane and Sue Devaney. A live 3-hour magazine series shown on summer mornings on BBC1. During this period met Jeff Chegwin (brother of Keith). On hearing Daniel’s solo material, he suggested pairing up with another singer and Daniel formed Yell! and the rest is history. Daniel took some time away from music and had guest lead roles in TV series including, Last Tango in Halifax, Casualty, Coronation Street, Bad Girls, Doctors, Eastenders and in the US, Passions for NBC TV.
